This black-and-white editorial is inspired by the films and portraits of Jean Cocteau. It draws on Orphée (1950), with Jean Marais as Orpheus reaching for the mirror and María Casares as the Princess, Death, whose eyes Cocteau painted on her closed lids. It also references Lucien Clergue’s 1959 photographs of Cocteau lying on a sheet with glass eyes, half hidden in smoke. Each image borrows one of his visual codes: paper eyes, smoke, the veil, the double and the mirror. The series was shot on a Fujifilm X-M5 in natural light. The aim of the series is to capture aurea mediocritas, the golden mean that runs through Cocteau’s work. Every image holds a balance between the real and the dream, waking and sleep, life and death...

This paper garment, inspired by Joan of Arc, embodies her strength in transcending gender roles. It reflects feminism through fashion, a tool women often use to rebel against oppression.
The sharp, exaggerated shoulders evoke armor, while fringes and a cropped silhouette add a modern touch. This piece bridges the dialogue between feminist pioneers like Joan of Arc and contemporary voices, truly expressing the modern woman.

The piece is punctuated with elements of syrian culture both from past and present, highlighting the importance of craftmanship and specifically fashion to the region and its way of life. Brocade is an integral part of syrian identity and heritage. Each piece of fabric tells a different story, one of time, patience, and the hands that made them. Arabic calligraphy is a pearl of this region's roots.
